Più di un semplice club, FAC 51 The Haçienda è stata un simbolo culturale. Fu fondata a Manchester (Regno Unito) nei primi anni ’80 da Rob Gretton (manager dei Joy Division e successivamente dei New Order) e da Tony Wilson (Factory Records, editore, produttore discografico), che coinvolsero nel progetto i membri dei Joy Division/New Order Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris e Peter Hook. The Haçienda – aperto nel 1982 e chiuso nel 1997 – ha contribuito in maniera fondamentale a definire la nascita ed il concetto della club culture e della musica elettronica.
Oggi la sua eredità torna a vivere con la pubblicazione di 51 DJ mix storici, disponibili in esclusiva su Apple Music. La raccolta copre il periodo dal 1987 a oggi, con registrazioni dai club originali e dei successivi eventi Haçienda
Tra i protagonisti figurano Armand Van Helen, Carl Craig, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega, Roger Sanchez e Todd Terry, insieme ai resident Mike Pickering, Graeme Park, DJ Paulette e Jon Dasilva. Un viaggio sonoro che racconta l’energia e l’impatto di uno dei club più influenti della storia.
